The Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne and White Street Project is proud to present a major new sound work by the Melbourne artist Roger Alsop – a work which has been made specifically for the Australian Garden at the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, together with indispensable and generous contributions from the staff at the RBGC.

Behind the Scenery: is a site-specific work that opens up the vast activities that occur behind the scenes in the RBG to its visitors.

The voices heard are of the people who work behind the scenes, discussing their interests and passions relating to the gardens. Visitors will also be able to replay interviews in order if they wish, or select interviews as they make their own way through the gardens.

Hearing these interviews will give any visitor an understanding of the wide variety of activities occurring behind the scenes as they navigate the gardens.

This project has been commissioned by WHITE STREET PROJECT with generous support from Arts Victoria and Frankston City Council.

With over 100,000 Australian native plants the Australian Garden features the diversity and beauty of Australian flora and landscapes. This podcast is an opportunity to hear from designers and staff who worked on this innovative project as you tour through the garden. It provides a unique perspective on Australia's newest and most innovative botanic gardens.
